In the vacuum of low Earth orbit, the wrong insulation material will outgas — contaminating sensitive optical surfaces and degrading electrical performance. Thermal cycling from −180°C in eclipse to +200°C in direct solar exposure occurs multiple times per day over a mission life of fifteen years or more. Radiation doses accumulate silently, degrading polymer materials and semiconductor devices alike.

ISG supplies ECSS-qualified wire, radiation-tolerant cable, outgassing-controlled heat-shrink and high-reliability connectors for satellite structures, launch vehicle umbilical systems and ground support equipment.
